Week 8

Although this is not about libraries, I think this is very amusing. Every day we have to show people how to use computers. Every technology needs to be learned....

Every library worker has an off day......

YouTube is semi-addicting fun. Something to do when there's nothing on t.v. I think TPL could use YouTube to show the public how to print from the centralized printers at TRL, how to book a computer, how to renew books, and filming some of the User Education courses.

Assignment #7

I spent some time looking through Podcast Alley for podcasts that interested me. I looked at the details for a couple of them, but found that they hadn't been updated recently. I went to the CBC site and signed up for 3 of the podcasts from them. Now all I need is the time to listen to them....

Assignment #6

I really enjoyed using Google Documents. I think there will be a lot interest in this application. It will be fun to try out the collaboration feature with others on the 23 things project

Assignment #5

I'll have to work with this for a while to determine how useful it will be for me. If I am looking for something specific and can't find it, del.icio.us might be a source I would consider checking. It is sort of interesting to see how many other people have tagged the sites I have. I even tagged one site that hadn't been tagged before - a site on restaurants in Toronto

Assignment #4

It was a lot of fun doing this assignment. I had trouble trying to create a cube using flower images. I'll have to keep working at it. It is amazing what images look like when they have been "Warholized"

I also visited the Generator site - I chose to create Mozart Minuets - a lot of fun! http://sunsite.univie.ac.at/Mozart/dice/

I already had a Bloglines account, but I hardly ever check it. I did add the LJ headlines to my list, as well as CP24 and CBC Toronto news sites, so I can keep up with what is happening in town.

I find that I don't really think about reading Bloglines. I generally check the sites I have in my Bloglines regularly anyway, so I should really choose feeds from sites that interest me, but that I don't check very often. When I find one of those, I'll add it to my Bloglines account.

I think overall too many RSS feeds is not manageable. A few can be scanned regularly without feeling that there is too much info overload

23 Things Assignment #2

As the seasons change, I start to think about the beauty of each one.
These photographs remind me of my favourite
aspects of each.
